Genting Berhad is committed to respecting locally and internationally recognised human rights across its operations and value chain, fostering a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace.

Human rights and labour standards are embedded within the Group’s governance, enterprise risk management framework and core business processes.

Oversight is provided at Board level led by the Executive Chairman, with clear management accountability at Company Exco led by Chief Executive. The Company’s day to day responsibilities including implementation and monitoring responsibilities are integrated across key functions, including Human Resources (workforce rights, fair wages, non-discrimination, recruitment practices and grievance handling), Procurement and Supply Chain via Heads of Departments (supplier due diligence, labour standards compliance and corrective action plans), Risk Management (risk assessment and monitoring) and Sustainability (reporting disclosures).

Genting Berhad’s expectations are set out in its Human Rights Policy and Code of Ethics, which are publicly available on its corporate website. These expectations are communicated and apply to its employees, business partners and suppliers.

As part of the risk assessment process, Genting Berhad conducts regular reviews or proactively assesses its human rights impacts on an on-going basis as part of its core business processes. Identified risks are managed through documented mitigation plans, stakeholder engagement and integration into business decision making and operational procedures.

Accessible grievance and whistleblowing mechanisms are available to internal and external stakeholders, with safeguards for confidentiality, anonymity and protection against retaliation.

Genting Berhad has implemented comprehensive measures to address labour issues across its operations and supply chain, underpinned by a zero-tolerance policy on child labour, forced labour and human trafficking. The Group enforces strict recruitment age and identity verification processes, complies with applicable labour laws and applies ethical employment and supplier standards.

To promote fair and decent working conditions, Genting Berhad supports responsible working hours, complies with minimum wage requirements and promotes fair and living wages in line with applicable labour laws and industry expectations. Measures such as overtime controls, workload management and flexible work arrangements are implemented where appropriate to reduce excessive working hours.

The Company respects the freedom of association and collective bargaining, which are practised within the Group’s operations. Established mechanisms in place that allow employee representatives and legally recognised labour unions to engage in regular and constructive dialogues with company management, enabling workers’ concerns to be raised, addressed and resolved transparently.

These commitments are embedded in the Human Rights Policy and Supplier Code of Conduct, supported by audits, training, supplier due diligence and confidential grievance mechanisms. In 2024, Genting Berhad reported zero substantiated cases of child labour, forced labour or major labour rights non compliance, reflecting effective oversight and implementation.

In addition, Genting Berhad addresses global health issues such as non communicable diseases through employee wellness and mental health programmes for its workforce, and through healthcare support, dementia care initiatives and health focused community investments for the communities where it operates.
